As part of its long-standing commitment to civic leadership and community
affairs, the Public Affairs Committee of the Union League Club of Chicago
is proud to host a current affairs forum: "Breakfast@65West." Held
at the Union League Club of Chicago, this series of breakfast meetings
features opinion leaders and policy experts from around Chicago
and around the country addressing a broad range of issues in a lively
format.
Breakfast@65West events begin with a buffet breakfast at 7:30 a.m., followed by the program at 8:00 and adjournment no later than 9:30. The cost is $20 per person, which is payable at the door by cash, credit card, or check made out to "Union League Club of Chicago."
Following our program on Wednesday, June 9th ("Money and Free Speech in American Politics: Citizens United v. FEC," an analysis of this landmark Supreme Court decision with Professor Richard Epstein of the University of Chicago Law School and Professor Robert Bennett of Northwestern University School of Law), Breakfast@65West is taking a summer break to gear up for our fall events.
The next programs to mark on your calendar are:
Cook County Board Presidential Candidate Forum on Wednesday, September 15. Participating candidates include Democratic candidate Toni Preckwinkle, Republican candidate Roger Keats, and Green Party candidate Tom Tresser.
Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Wednesday, September 29. Participating candidates include incumbent Governor Pat Quinn (D) and State Senator Bill Brady (R).
We hope to see you at both of these exciting events! To register for either the September 15 or September 29 program, or if you have questions about any Breakfast@65West events, please call (312) 435-5946 or send an e-mail to publicaffairs@ulcc.org.
